badminton once more

Author: JT   |  Apr 25th, 2008

weisiang was organising a mass badminton session so decided to join in with trond,

went to get a new grip for my racket at jurong east stadium before the session.

couldn’t find the one that i bought previously for my prince racket so settled for one of the more expensive ones from yonex.

i like fat grips since my hand is big so i decided to try leaving the old grip there and just pasting the new one on top, turned out to be a bad idea cause the extra grip made the racket heavy and i couldn’t take it out cause it wouldn’t stick anymore.

now i have to take off both the grips and spend extra money to buy another grip for the racket…argh!

went back for a rest since the badminton was late at night and trond was picking me up around 10.45pm so i had plenty of time.

my leg was feeling great as well but i took a pain killer just to be 101% sure.

reached there around 11pm but there were still people playing so had to wait a bit for them to finish, weisiang was already there with 2 friends, a male and a female.

i later realised that both were our (weisiang and mine) secondary school mates and 1 of them was yiteng’s badminton buddy when he was still in school.

the 5 of us started playing but more people turned up later.

i knew one of the other girls that turned up later was cyntia, also from yiteng’s batch and i think her boyfriend was also from hong kah but i couldn’t be sure. aaron also turned up although i was sure he told us he couldn’t make it cause he was meeting a girl for some sushi buffet.

since there were 6 guys, we played doubles and all the pairs were quite even up but trond and cyntia’s boyfriend were unbeatable for 5 rounds.

had a nice talk with junling (i’m not sure if that’s the correct spelling) since he was my partner and we ended up talking about cars. i am actually intending to get a car by year end and he was quite knowledgeable in the field so asked him for a bit of advice.

the girls were kinda bored cause they were playing singles so they were grumbling about the time and stuff so we decided to call it a day at around 3am before heading for mcdonalds for drinks…and food.

non of us wanted to eat before entering mcdonalds but all of us ended up eating once we were there, think they have some sort of black magic where they entice everyone that walks in to buy some food.

went home tired but greatly satisfied…it has been months since i last had such an enjoyable badminton session.

i was about to get ready for bed when my stupid neighbour called, he had problems with his quotations again and wanted me to go over to help. although reluctant, i still dragged myself next door and showed him how to open up microsoft words with his quotation template and how to edit the figures in the template.

even my 8 year old nephew could do that…

black black drink

Author: JT   |  Apr 25th, 2008

kinda lost motivation to blog due to some unhappy incident which i would prefer not to talk about but i’m trying to put it behind already and so i’m back dating my posts.

met up with trond and her sister for lunch at jurong point, caught a ride from my mom and reached there 30 minutes early but ended up waiting for over a hour cause trond was late as usual…

not that i mind anyway since i had loads of practice for waiting for people, personally trained by colin low hor !

trond’s sister wanted to talk to me about the job they are offering me, the job scope, what they expect from me and what will i expect from them.

i’ll leave the details of the job out but the food at fish & co was really horrible!

all 3 of us ordered fish and chips and when the dishes came, the fish was like soaked in oil, i usually don’t really notice and bother much about the oil in fried food but this was an overkill!

for the first time in history, i go so put off by the food that i didn’t finish the whole dish.

met jian sheng, another primary school classmate of ours (trond and mine) who was also having lunch at fish & co with his colleagues.

halfway through lunch, 2 uncles (in suits) sat down on the table just behind me and when placing order, 1 of the uncles pointed his hand across my face (while i was eating) and told the waiter “i want that black black drink”.

wtf ???

the only dark coloured drinks they serve in restaurants are lemon tea and cola, i never knew it was so hard to tell what “that black black drink” was.

and can’t he just point to my drink from his table instead of shoving his whole hand in my face and point to my drink, which was like 2cm away from his finger?

i felt like just grabbing his finger and breaking it or even biting it…

anyway, back to the job, i like the scope and i like the challenge but i would probably have to negotiate for more pay,

i have until next weekend when trond comes back to give a final decision but of course they will have to give me a final offer as well.

let’s just hope everything works out fine.

differences between friendship and relationship

Author: JT   |  Apr 25th, 2008

you have sex in a relationship,

you don’t have sex in a friendship.

-

you love someone in a relationship,

you grow with someone in a friendship.

-

you trust your future with someone in a relationship,

you trust your secrets with someone in a friendship.

-

as colin once told me, you trust and believe your better friends wholeheartedly and give them benefit of doubts based on who or what they are, not based on their merits or advantages you can get.

i would rather not trust any bad information i hear from half hearted friends than go find out the truth from friends i call good friends cause i trust them even without finding out the truth, i believe in them.

there are of course exceptions to everyone and some people might disagree with me but this is how i work.

i choose my friends, not anyone else.

i accept whatever good or bad habits they have, i accept them for them, i don’t accept them cause i think they can be better, i don’t accept them cause i think they are worth my time, i don’t accept them cause i think i can change them to being what i think is better, i accept them for just them.

and if that’s not good enough,

then so be it.

i chose you as a friend, now it’s up to you to decide if you want to choose me as a friend.

sounds corny now that i’m re-reading my post but oh well…

re: never felt so popular in my life

Author: JT   |  Apr 25th, 2008

this post is in response to aaron’s post.

i really can’t imagine why people will leave their phone on silent even at home,

what’s the use of having phones when you leave it on silent most of the time which means you don’t really know when people are calling you.

even if i do play games at any time of the day, my phone will still be with me and it definitely won’t be on silent.

and if it weren’t for the fact that his friend was looking for him urgently, i wouldn’t have set my phone to auto-dial anyway.

i always thought andy ee was the only idiot dumb enough to leave his phone on silent even at home…

guess i was wrong.

//update//

in response to aaron’s response to my response on his earlier post.

if you think that no one’s gonna call you and you need to charge your phone and leave it silent at the same time, then why on it in the first place?

why waste the electricity to leave it on when charging since you are certain it’s not going to ring anytime soon and even if it does, you won’t be anywhere near or around to see it blinking.

the only reason for the huge number of miss calls is cause my phone has this special ability to redial a number once it hits into a voicemail or engage tone, i certainly don’t have the time and definitely not the need to manually press your number for over 70+ times.

and i was doing a friend’s job of passing a message to you from your another friend but i can always ignore it.

and that’s what i’ll probably do from now on.
