hellboy 2, part 2

Author: JT   |  Jul 20th, 2008

met another colleague, shenton koh, under my block. he needed my help to fix his laptop so he dropped by and i had a long nice chat with him.

talked till around 7.45pm before going home for dinner.

charlie called and asked if i wanted to go for movie with him in town, agreed since i had nothing to do so took a cab down to plaza singapura.

it was only when i reached that i realised he has already bought the tickets…for hellboy 2.

wtf!

2nd time watching the movie within 24 hours.

hellboy 2

Author: JT   |  Jul 19th, 2008

wanted to catch up with the recent movies but couldn’t find anyone to go with and just like a god send, collin (koh) called me for movie cause he’s bored.

met him at jurong point after work and went to get 2 tickets for hellboy 2, i badly wanted to watch batman but collin watched it yesterday so i had to settle for hellboy 2.

watched the first movie when it came out, kinda disliked the show but thought the sequel will be better so decided to give it a 2nd chance.

went for lunch at kopitiam and finally got a chance to use my kopitiam card. both of us had claypot rice, mine’s chicken and collin’s pork. also had some teriyaki chicken and meatballs to go along.

collin’s claypot pork rice with super extra black sauce

samples of the teriyaki chicken and meat balls, the rest were already in our stomach

yum yum claypot rice!

and now, the movie…

3 words to describe the movie,

crap crap crap !!!

fell asleep for the first 15 minutes of the show but managed to catch the rest and it was boring…

the storyline was crap, the effects were crap and hellboy is crap!

it’s a show not even worth downloading.

since we had nothing to do after the show, we took a bus back and that’s about it.

camwhored in bus

hancock with collin

Author: JT   |  Jul 7th, 2008

went to jurong point with collin (koh) for a movie since we’re both bored at home.

i expected the show to be like a “save the world” kinda show like all the other superhero movies but somehow, this movie felt different. the twist in the middle was very unexpected as well.

i would say it’s a good movie with good effects.

met up with another friend, pegs, after the movie and sat down for a chat while waiting for shawn to come have dinner with me as collin was going back to camp.

collin seem to have changed for the short 2-3 months that i’ve not seen him, no more the chin chai collin that wears old t-shirt and slippers to jurong point. the new collin wears orange polo-t and a tag heuer watch.

well, i would say it’s an improvement for him…but i still think he should get that beauty mole removed.

lol!

-

was looking high and low in jurong point for a new camera pouch, the original pouch that came with the camera wasn’t of much use.

this is what collin found for me in harvy norman, looks like a free gift right?

wrong! this damn pouch cost me $32!

the insides are spacious enough to hold an additional battery, a spare memory card and a memory card adapter.

kinda expensive for a pouch that provides free advertising but the cheaper ones i bought for my old sony camera proved to be a huge mistake cause the pouch dropped along with the camera.

shopping spree & movie

Author: JT   |  Jul 2nd, 2008

was half asleep on the bus when shawn called, he wanted to meet me at jurong point for dinner and since i was already heading towards that direction, i agreed.

saw a small citibank branch near the mrt and decided to sign up for the credit cards. have been wanting to sign up for it for sometime and since i was already there, i decided to sign up. luckily, i had all my documents with me so the process was a breeze, all i had to do was for them to fill up the form on my behalf and just sign on the dotted line. approval takes just 1 day so i can probably pick up the cards from the same place tomorrow after work.

each person is limited to 3 cards so i choice the dividend card (5% rebate for petrol), citibank m1 card (additional m1 bill discounts) and the clear platinum card (for partying).

1 bank down, 4 more to go.

passed a sonyericsson shop on the way to jurong point so decided to get the earpiece for trond. he has been whining about breaking his old earpiece so bought him a new one. he’s my boss afterall.

was walking along world of sports where i chanced upon a pair of slippers that i like.

damage - $12

just when i was about to pay for it, i saw this nice pair of sandals so decided to get it as well. my old pair from ecco hardly lasted a year and it wasn’t comfortable but this pair of teva sandals was just right for me.

damage - $89

also got a new badminton racket grip from sports link. it was rather costly for a grip but i like the feel so didn’t mind the extra few bucks.

damage - $9.90

wanted to get the adidas water bottle as well but realise that i don’t really use it so left the shop quickly in case i change my mind.

shawn was dead hungry by now so i left dinner’s decision to him. he suggested long john but the only seats available were deep inside and it felt like an oven there so decided to move somewhere cooler.

ended up at mos burger, at least the air there is cooler…i hate sweating in an air-conditioned place.

it was still early so we decided to go for a movie…either wanted or hancock.

i seriously think the storyline is crap but loved the effects, i think it would be better if they got someone else for the main role.

i would rate it as a weekday movie, definitely not a show you want to catch on weekends.

took a cab back after the movie as it was already late and i had a lot of stuffs with me, just wanted to get home and lie on the bed.

p/s: yiteng, got pictures liao, happy?

work on sunday

Author: JT   |  Jun 23rd, 2008

woke up around 10am with a super bad backache, took me almost 15 minutes to get out of bed. better remember to tell my doctor when i see him tomorrow morning.

lazed around at home watching animes and playing a bit of battle stations before going down to central for the event. my mom was on the way to the wake so i got a free ride. picked charlie along the way at commenwealth mrt, he wasn’t suppose to come along since his dad was flying back to vietnam but he came along anyway.

thank goodness charlie came along, trond and i would have taken double the time to finish the setup if not for him. started setting up around 4pm but the sun was up so couldn’t really see anything on the projection screen, had to wait till almost 6 plus before we could finally setup and calibrate the touchscreen.

our original plan was to setup early, have dinner at central before going down to great world for a movie but we were rather tight on timing so decided to skip dinner and go for the movie instead.

caught “you don’t mess with the zohan” and it was worth it, laughed till my ass hurt.

the show finished at around 9.45pm and we had to rush through our dinner at yoshinoya cause the event ended earlier than expected.

went back to central to tear down the setup and trond dropped both charlie and myself at redhill mrt. we were both dead tired so decided to take a cab back instead.

took some pictures of the event but i’m just too lazy to upload the pictures from the camera to my laptop…maybe another day.

kung fu panda

Author: JT   |  Jun 19th, 2008

went for a free movie with trond and his sister, sofie, with her young daughter.

fell asleep during the start of the movie, was just too tired but woke up in time to see the film get interesting.

nice movie to teach small chicken on morals and it was worth a few laughs too.

i’ve not been watching movie often recently but this is certainly 1 good movie.

what happens in vegas

Author: JT   |  May 11th, 2008

was actually planning to spend the day at home but rw had to message me to go out,

didn’t want to at first but somehow gave in…

waited for rw at my place before going over to jurong point for a 4.30pm show.

/\/\

well, it’s a love show so watch it with someone you like…

and it’s GREAT!

2 good shows in 2 days, how lucky can i get.

a great comedy with touching scenes.

watch it!

-

colin met us for dinner at jurong point before sending rw off.

walked over to the park near my place and waited for aaron to come,

went to the nearby coffee shop for satay before rushing home due to a stomachache,

i think i ate something wrong.

ducks and speed racer

Author: JT   |  May 11th, 2008

we had an agreement to catch a movie after the exhibition so trond and i went down to vivo city after packing up.

actually wanted to watch the super hero movie but it wasn’t available anymore so settled for speed racer at 9.15pm,

since we still had a couple of hours, we went for dinner at dian siao er, had always wanted to try their famous roast duck.

2nd duck meal in 1 day…

ordered a few dishes, the famous 10 spice roast duck, dong puo rou, some pea sprouts (i think they are called pea sprouts) and a soup.

my opinion of the food?

i’ll never be back there again…ever!

i remember watching the cartoon when i was very little and have always like cars with special gadgets ever since then.

this show is not just about super cars or racing but it actually touches a little on life.

good show, worth the money even for weekends and really enjoyable…

watch it if you’re a fan of speed racer…

watch it if you’ve no idea what speed racer is…

just watch it!

downside of the show?

it’s over 2 hours.

-

we didn’t expect the show to last that long so trond was kinda late and couldn’t send me back, his girlfriend was at home in shanghai waiting for him to reach home.

wanted to take a cab back as i was late for badminton but the queue was crazy so ended up taking 97 back to jurong east before changing to a cab.

had a encounter with a drunkard on the bus but he left me alone after giving him a deadly stare…the guy at the back of me wasn’t that lucky thought.

-

rushed back to change and get my rackets and went to meet aaron, weisiang, junling & girlfriend for badminton.

it was a total wasted trip as they were not in the mood for badminton at all,

was kinda pissed off, if you don’t feel like playing then don’t play, why spoil the mood for everyone.

ironman & waraku

Author: JT   |  May 2nd, 2008

caught ironman at cineleisure before the rawr! outing with my cousin,

we were supposed to meet at 5.30pm and i actually left my house early but the damn bus broke down near imm and i was running late so decided to catch a cab over to town.

being absent minded, i told the taxi driver plaza singapura since that was the original place we wanted to watch at and it wasn’t until the cab reached there that i remembered it was supposed to be at cineleisure so told the cabbie to make a turn.

the cab fare turned up to a whooping $20.30.

on normal days i could have reached orchard from my place below $13 and the cab driver was driving so darn slow i had to ask him to drive faster.

reached there at 6pm sharp and ran to grab our tickets and we still managed to make it for the movie before it starts.

as for the movie, it was really great…the best movie i’ve been to this year.

i’m not really an ironman fan for the comics or the cartoon (if they have one) but this movie sure made me like ironman.

was already 8.30pm by the time the movie ended and we were hungry do decided to grab dinner before going for the rawr! outing at 9pm.

went to nydc opposite the road at heeren but the queue was crazy,

wanted to have sakae sushi but the whole floor was closed for renovation,

wanted to have mache (or vilage) but it was closed as well so my cousin suggested waraku at cuppage.

it was a place i wanted to try out since eons ago but never had a chance to so i didn’t mind.

i had a bowl of teriyaki chicken rice which wasn’t at all good but the side dish i ordered, beef hot plate was just delicious!

i also didn’t realise my cousin was such a big eater when he ordered 2 bowls of japanese noodles (it’s not raman but something else) and could actually finish both up,

and he’s still so darn skinny! god is so unfair!

it was already 9.15pm by the time we finished so rushed over by taxi, another $7 wasted.

naruto manga

Author: JT   |  Apr 30th, 2008

been wanting to download the manga and catch up with the storyline but just didn’t put in the time and effort to look for them.

well, finally managed to convince myself to start downloading it and thank god for programs like flashget and reget other wise i will be clicking on the damn links for over 400+ times.

managed to download everything in 1 night and spent the rest of the evening reading the manga…

i would say the storyline for naruto is getting better with more twists and turns but i’m still feeling sad that jiraiyeh and itachi had to die,

they were both my idols in the naruto world.
