blading…after a year

Author: JT   |  Jul 5th, 2008

been wanting to pickup blading again but couldn’t cause of my bad leg…and now that my leg’s finally making some progress, i decided to head down to east coast park for a relaxed blading session.

couldn’t find my old blading kakis to come along so i asked a few random people, victor, an ex-colleague from sun microsystems and his friend as well as an internet friend, hengyu.

bladed from mcdonalds to the safra chalet and back, was going at a rather slow speed cause hengyu couldn’t keep up with the rest of us. the journey back was even slower and to make things worst, hengyu fell down along the way and had a bloody knee. the wound was so bad blood dripped all over his socks and boots. luckily we were already near the place he rented the blades from so got him to take the blades off and go wash off the wound while i returned his blades for him.

i’ve never got the chance to rent one of these chalets but i think they’re huge!

the track used to stop at the chalet but i noticed a new track leading somewhere else, wanted to try the new track but hengyu was quite reluctant to so i decided to leave the exploring to another day when i come with better bladers.

victor and his friend was in a rush to go off somewhere so hengyu and myself went to mcdonalds for a quick bite before going home.

somehow i get a feeling all the exercise was for nothing.

since i had nowhere else to go, i took a rather expensive cab home.

saturday skate nite

Author: JT   |  Aug 5th, 2007

finally the day of the event came…

the charity skate was cancelled last week due to rain but was postponed to today although it’s unofficial.

only 2 of us went, ah hong and myself…colin (chong) couldn’t make it due to some family dinner.

i don’t think the whole event was organised very well thought.

they did not give a detailed briefing on which way we were going by and they started the event with some people still suiting up.

how on earth do they expect the people behind to know which road to take?

i understand that rough terrain is part and parcel of urban blading but there was a stretch of road with no pave way…

they expect us to walk on the grass for that 200 meters or so???

there were insufficient people helping out and they seem to create more problems than solving them.

during the trip, there were quite a number of times where they block up the pave way trying to tell the people behind that there was a step or something…

if you’re trying to alert the people at the back, then DON’T BLOCK THE PAVE WAY…

dickheads, i wonder if they think with their brains or with their dicks.

had high tide after 3/4 of the journey so decided to take a quick stop and pee and guess what!

when we came out, we couldn’t see them anymore…

duh!

gave up looking for them and took a cab to esplanade to look for kat and gang instead.

didn’t take much pictures as i was too busy trying to balance myself on the rough terrain or trying to overtake the people in front of me.

in fact, i only took 1 picture…

oh and someone ran over and killed a snake along old thomson road.

poor snake…

check out our feet after the event

source from skateline’s homepage.

argh!

really disappointed!

was planning for this event weeks before.

i was told it will be postponed to the next week but somehow the information wasn’t really confirmed.

and to think i actually went shopping for stuffs for this marathon…

to top it off, it didn’t rain since after 4pm.

ARGH! stupid fucks!

today’s the day!

Author: JT   |  Jul 28th, 2007

finally! been waiting for this day since 3 weeks ago.

today’s the day of the 42km charity skate.

collin (koh)’s not going due to some “issues” but managed to find a replacement luckily.

i need to go get my water bag and find a good torch light.

any recommendations?

charity blade

Author: JT   |  Jul 24th, 2007

4 more days to the charity blade, rather looking forward to it.

hope collin koh’s toe nail is healed by then…

still quite nervous everytime i think of the 42km,

must tell myself i can do it !

auto park

Author: JT   |  Jul 17th, 2007

went blading after work with christina and joe.

just some light exercise, was quite fun thought.

sat in christina’s spanking new toyota collora axio…

damn cool man, the car has a video cam at the back of the car so everytime she puts the car in reverse mode, the lcd panel will light up and show her how she can park.

if that’s not enough, the car can also park by itself if it’s set to auto mode…

way cool!!

how come toyota camry doesn’t have that feature?

ecp blading

Author: JT   |  Jul 5th, 2007

knocked off early today so headed for ecp to blade.

it’s been sometime since i last bladed alone and it just doesn’t feel right blading alone.

irene (chen lingie lingie) came to join me at 7.30pm and we bladed from the lighthouse to a little bit further then bedok jetty. i think she’s really in love with her new pair of blades, kept looking and talking about it.

yeah we know it’s pink!

didn’t really work out much but my legs feel damn sore, think i might have tighten my boots too tightly.

hope tomorrow’s session will be better.
