imperial treasures

Author: JT   |  Aug 2nd, 2008

slept at around 2pm and told myself to get up at 5pm to return to singfest but i was so tired i slept till 8pm. had like 30 miss calls and 15 smses.

everything seemed to be fine at singfest so i decided to meet colin (low) and kc for dinner. i had totally forgotten about having dinner with them so i took a cab down to meet them at ngee ann city.

it was supposed to be my treat for finding a new job so those 2 suckers booked a table at imperial treasures.

4 dishes totalling up to $109, signed on my dbs card.

the food was actually quite good but the portion was pathetic and i was still hungry even after 2 bowls of rice, should have just gone to a normal coffeeshop for zi cha and imagine what dishes we can get for $100.

anyway, the next treat is from kc. it’s his promised treat since he’ll be taking commission from my cpf investment that i invested through him.

mortons!

took a walk after dinner and ended up at centerpoint macdonalds having supper. 20 pieces of nuggets, 1 mini coke and a strawberry milkshake…of course the nuggets were shared lah!

met up with eric for 5 minutes to collect the singfest’s money from him before taking a cab back home.

back to school

Author: JT   |  Jul 10th, 2008

finally made up my mind to go back to school after so many months, been missing it ever since my leg got injured in late feburary.

hitched a ride with aunty susan to clementi and took a mrt down to city hall, was still early and ended up reading car magazines at mph.

there were some renovation done to the classrooms and now they are just 1/2 the size they used to be, the turnout was quite big and we had to squeeze to get everyone in.

was super tired and my eyes kept closing during class so i decided to leave 1/2 way during the break and go home for an early night rest.

feeling hungry so got a bite at burger king before taking a cab back.

wanted to sleep early but tian chan called to meet up for a walk and it has been ages since i last met him so i agreed.

talked till around 12.30am before coming back, took a bath and blogging now while waiting for my hair to dry.

blading…after a year

Author: JT   |  Jul 5th, 2008

been wanting to pickup blading again but couldn’t cause of my bad leg…and now that my leg’s finally making some progress, i decided to head down to east coast park for a relaxed blading session.

couldn’t find my old blading kakis to come along so i asked a few random people, victor, an ex-colleague from sun microsystems and his friend as well as an internet friend, hengyu.

bladed from mcdonalds to the safra chalet and back, was going at a rather slow speed cause hengyu couldn’t keep up with the rest of us. the journey back was even slower and to make things worst, hengyu fell down along the way and had a bloody knee. the wound was so bad blood dripped all over his socks and boots. luckily we were already near the place he rented the blades from so got him to take the blades off and go wash off the wound while i returned his blades for him.

i’ve never got the chance to rent one of these chalets but i think they’re huge!

the track used to stop at the chalet but i noticed a new track leading somewhere else, wanted to try the new track but hengyu was quite reluctant to so i decided to leave the exploring to another day when i come with better bladers.

victor and his friend was in a rush to go off somewhere so hengyu and myself went to mcdonalds for a quick bite before going home.

somehow i get a feeling all the exercise was for nothing.

since i had nowhere else to go, i took a rather expensive cab home.

shopping spree & movie

Author: JT   |  Jul 2nd, 2008

was half asleep on the bus when shawn called, he wanted to meet me at jurong point for dinner and since i was already heading towards that direction, i agreed.

saw a small citibank branch near the mrt and decided to sign up for the credit cards. have been wanting to sign up for it for sometime and since i was already there, i decided to sign up. luckily, i had all my documents with me so the process was a breeze, all i had to do was for them to fill up the form on my behalf and just sign on the dotted line. approval takes just 1 day so i can probably pick up the cards from the same place tomorrow after work.

each person is limited to 3 cards so i choice the dividend card (5% rebate for petrol), citibank m1 card (additional m1 bill discounts) and the clear platinum card (for partying).

1 bank down, 4 more to go.

passed a sonyericsson shop on the way to jurong point so decided to get the earpiece for trond. he has been whining about breaking his old earpiece so bought him a new one. he’s my boss afterall.

was walking along world of sports where i chanced upon a pair of slippers that i like.

damage - $12

just when i was about to pay for it, i saw this nice pair of sandals so decided to get it as well. my old pair from ecco hardly lasted a year and it wasn’t comfortable but this pair of teva sandals was just right for me.

damage - $89

also got a new badminton racket grip from sports link. it was rather costly for a grip but i like the feel so didn’t mind the extra few bucks.

damage - $9.90

wanted to get the adidas water bottle as well but realise that i don’t really use it so left the shop quickly in case i change my mind.

shawn was dead hungry by now so i left dinner’s decision to him. he suggested long john but the only seats available were deep inside and it felt like an oven there so decided to move somewhere cooler.

ended up at mos burger, at least the air there is cooler…i hate sweating in an air-conditioned place.

it was still early so we decided to go for a movie…either wanted or hancock.

i seriously think the storyline is crap but loved the effects, i think it would be better if they got someone else for the main role.

i would rate it as a weekday movie, definitely not a show you want to catch on weekends.

took a cab back after the movie as it was already late and i had a lot of stuffs with me, just wanted to get home and lie on the bed.

p/s: yiteng, got pictures liao, happy?

wii wii wii

Author: JT   |  Apr 8th, 2008

was playing fire emblem on wii until around 7am,

didn’t feel tired while i was playing but once i switched it off, i could feel the surge of tiredness rushing into me at once.

took a quick bath and went to bed, was already 3+ when i was waken up by multiple phone calls,

it was kennedy asking about his friend’s laptop.

he called back again after 15 minutes screaming into my ears saying that someone has hacked into his blog,

he had forgotten telling me that he couldn’t upload pictures so i did a test upload for him.

i probably could sleep more but i woke up anyway, there wasn’t anyone at home so went down to get some food and started on my wii.

this is the first time i managed to play the wii on an afternoon cause my mom will usually be hogging it in the afternoons with her ddr.

think i played from 4pm to around 8.30pm when heng yu called.

he was around the place and decided to pay a visit so went downstairs to meet him,

took a walk around the nearby park and had a nice chat before buying supper back home.

originally wanted to go boon lay with aaron for supper but my legs were getting bad so decided to just buy some rice back and eat.

and here i am again, sitting in front of my living room television equipped with a laptop, a wii-mote, a tv remote, a large bottle of water and plenty of snacks that i bought from malaysia last week.

i probably have to stop soon thought, meeting aaron tomorrow morning for a morning swim.

let’s hope it’ll work out this time…

//update//

it’s 4.55am now and i’m still awake.

should i sleep for a few hours and go for a swim?

should i cancel the swim and sleep peacefully?

should i just play my game and go for the swim?

only time will tell.

//update update//

as expected, we did not go swimming,

it was raining heavily at 2pm, aaron said…

oh wait, i thought we were supposed to go at 9am?

lol!

aunty vincent

Author: JT   |  Apr 6th, 2008

woke up at around 3pm and wanted to spend the day with my wii but colin called and asked if i wanna meet up with him and vincent (goh).

it has been a couple of months ago that i last saw vincent so i didn’t mind and went down to tiong bharu plaza to meet the 2 of them.

vincent wanted to buy some hair cream or something and a new pair of swimming trunks but he couldn’t find them so decided to make a trip down to great world city.

took a bus from tiong bharu plaza but realised that the bus doesn’t go to great world so instead of changing bus, we decided to settle for china town.

vincent brought us to some ulu building in china town and even had to walk up a few stories just to get to a particular shop that sells almost everything that watsons, guardian and all the other pharmacies combined together.

the shop felt like an oven so i decided to just stand outside since i know i won’t be getting anything andthe place was practically crawling with aunties bargaining like crazy for the just a few cents.

we’ve officially promoted vincent to aunty vincent!

vincent still wanted to get his trunks so we walked to china town point and went to some shop on the 3rd level…

he ended up buying a pair of green slippers.

went for dinner at swenson’s and ooohhhh boy! the food there really sucked!

the last time i had swenson’s was during a company outing when i still in microsoft and that was like 2 years ago.

i had beef baked rice, colin had fish and chips and vincent had an omelet with cheese and onions, he was vegetarian for the day.

my beef baked rice really tasted like field ration, i had to add in plenty of salt and even some tartar sauce to give it some taste,

tried a little of colin’s fish and chips and it tasted bad as well,

with such poor quality, i think even hans is better than swenson’s.

it was still early so we sat down at the nearby coffee bean and talked a bit before sharing a cab back.

here are some pictures we took during dinner at swenson’s using 2 different phones.

the food looks nice?

that’s because vincent’s a good food photographer,

manhunt

Author: JT   |  Apr 6th, 2008

no, not that useless male beauty pageant.

manhunt as in hunting for a man,

a mutual friend between colin, kc and me, tim sum, seems to be missing.

we’ve been trying to get him on his mobile for days but it was always off.

tried calling his house and it was either the maid who can’t answer anything properly in english or the phone was hung up.

and so after a few days, we started to get worried so decided to go down to his place for a visit today.

and i still thought colin was angry with me and will be ignoring me for the next few weeks…perhaps he’s practicing anger management course at home secretly.

being absent minded, i totally forgot the plans about going down and actually made arrangements to meet trond after his work.

had to sms him again saying i can’t meet him.

that’s like 2 times in less than 12 hours.

sorry trond!

colin’s dad was driving down to toh payoh so we decided to hitch a ride down to toh payoh before taking a train down to town to meet kc.

met kc and took a bus over to tim sum’s place.

as expected, no one was home, or rather, no one was answering the door bell.

since it was still early, we went to a nearby coffee shop for some drinks and snacks before trying again later.

after over an hour, we decided to drop by his place to give it another try…

as it turns out, we met his maid on the way back and cornered her.

cornered was seriously the right word to use.

lol!

after trying all ways and means trying to understand her english, we found out that…

  • tim sum’s unreasonable elder sister is at home but refuses to answer the doorbell or the phone (super attitude problem).
  • the door bell was working fine.
  • tim sum left home at 6am (which was uncommon since he loves to sleep)
  • tim sum was not home yet (which again was uncommon since he loves to go back early)

although colin strongly suspected something was wrong, there was nothing much we can do so we left a card with the maid and told her to get tim sum to call us back or else we’ll report to the police tomorrow.

alright that was a lie but it was to scare her into making sure she does pass tim sum the message.

went to have yet another snack before taking bus back.

-

on the way back from the bus stop, my neighbour called and asked for free technical help again…

i probably won’t be answering his calls much after today.

went over to his place and couldn’t seem to solve the problem so i pushed the blame to operating system and told him to get his people to format the system.

also managed to crack his wireless router password, now i can have free internet whenever i want.

L change the world

03285.bmp

finally met up with zhirong at orchard, was supposed to meet sometime back but we kept delaying due to work schedules…

was supposed to catch “L change the world” at the cathay but couldn’t get tickets in time so we went over to cineleisure instead,

somehow managed to get quite good seats just 45 minutes before the show although it was a full seating…lucky!

this movie is a spin off from the original deathnote series but i somehow found it even better than deathnote.

if you’re considering this movie against movies like “cj7″, “kung fu dunk” and “ah long pte ltd”, please do not waste your time and catch this show instead.

but if you’re considering this movie against “jumper”, my advice is to just watch both!

was supposed to accompany zhirong for the day but due to certain personal reasons, i had to leave after the movie.

china town

Author: JT   |  Feb 6th, 2008

was supposed to meet colin (low) and vincent (goh) in chinatown around 9pm for some cheap bargain but i fell asleep and couldn’t wake up till 11.30pm.

also supposed to meet kennedy (see) to pass him some stuffs but didn’t turn up, got a real bad screwing… :(

took a cab down to chinatown and got cyrus (tan) to join us as well since his mom’s new boyfriend was on his way down from his place as well.

met a few irc-ers at chinatown but didn’t interact much…

started squeezing with the crowd in search for cheap stuffs,

vincent bought a bouquet of flowers for his mom,

i bought 2 baby pineapple plants for my mom,

cyrus bought 8 packets of some weird snacks for his mom,

colin didn’t buy anything…不孝之子!

walked to maxwell market for a drink before taking our individual cabs home.
