the mad rush badminton

Author: JT   |  Jul 27th, 2008

was already preparing myself for badminton when aaron reminded me that weixiang couldn’t make it for badminton until 10pm and the fact that we wouldn’t have any shuttlecocks or net without him. made a mad rush to jurong point to get a new yonex net and a cheap tube of shuttlecocks only to realize that dahong has borrowed a spare net from the usual guys next court.

dahong, aaron and i were exhausted by the time weixiang came but we still played on till around 12am. decided to leave first since I have work in the morning.

a very good session…looking forward to tuesday’s session

is there a tuesday session?

badminton game

Author: JT   |  Jul 22nd, 2008

had a meeting in the morning with a tobacco company, sounds like this might be a big deal as well if everything goes as planned.

went for lunch at jurong point with trond, charlie and gabriel and had the japanese emu fried rice with chicken cutlet. as to how nice it tasted, let’s just say i’ll not be going back to the stall ever again.

the afternoon flew pass quickly, had so many things to do that i lost track of the time until trond started asking me to start changing for badminton.

charlie forgot to bring his badminton stuffs so we had to drive back to my place and pick up a spare t-shirt and shoes for him. i didn’t know his feet size so i brought 2 pairs along, 1 of my old sports shoes and the other belongs to my mom.

had a great badminton session thought, the court next to ours was unused and we had 8 people, 4 youngsters and 4 senior citizens.

was feeling damn hungry since we hadn’t time for dinner so went off with shenton after badminton for dinner. trond and charlie left for home since they were both not feeling well.

weekly badminton

Author: JT   |  Jul 13th, 2008

went for my weekly badminton session with aaron, weixiang and dahong. was already tired from walking around and both my legs hurt but still i managed to play a good game.

so old already still act cute…damn bue tahan!

shagged

Author: JT   |  Jul 9th, 2008

went for badminton after a day of bordom in office, expected a huge turnout but only 8 of us managed to make it and 2 of them left earlier than expected.

played quite a few games and was totally shagged, 2 hours of playing with the office guys is more tiring than playing 4 hours on sunday, good way to slim down thought…

i think i need more exercise, swimming anyone?

badminton for 4 hours

Author: JT   |  Jul 7th, 2008

4 hours was an overkill but we had to do it!

we used to book 2 hours from 7-9pm and play till around 10pm but there’s a new group of uncles who kept snatching our courts. we had to resort to booking 2 courts for 4 hours each…and it ain’t cheap!

between both groups, we had like 9 players and it was super tiring. my left leg felt like jelly after the session.

aaron, weisiang, shawn and i went for supper together at the nearby newly renovated coffeeshop for supper badminton and all 4 of us ordered fried rice.

aaron had normal fried rice + additional rice + egg
weisiang had salted fish fried rice + egg
shawn had seafood fried rice + egg
i had beef fried rice + egg

snapped some pictures while waiting for the food.

we need more people for badminton!

anyone interested to join us?

wonderful sunday night

Author: JT   |  Jun 15th, 2008

had a nice game during the badminton session, too bad we couldn’t play more cause of the stupid uncles who came over to raid our court. no more nice guy from next week onwards even thought you people are uncles.

the courts were crowded today, plenty of new faces from the other group and got some really pro ones.

stayed still around 10.30pm chatting with joe and shawn, also promised them i’ll go for their east coast cycling/blading session next saturday.

came back just in time for a clan war, it’s rawr vs creed again and yet again, we managed to sink creed! exhausted almost all my APs but i guess the experience was worth it.

made myself a large salmon & ham sandwich and preparing myself for work tomorrow…my official first day of work!

badminton once again

Author: JT   |  Jun 8th, 2008

laze the whole day around at home until around 7 before meeting weisiang and dahong for badminton.

aaron was supposed to come along but backed out suddenly…

if he plays next week, we gonna tie him to the net and serve 100 shuttlecocks at him.

borrowed a young guy from the other group so we can play doubles and found out he was just staying nearby, got his contact number so we can call him in future if we run short of players.

it was a nice session but could feel my legs still weren’t in perfect condition, probably need to give it more time to heal completely.

went for a nice supper/dinner after that and went home.

booked the court for next week as well, has been agreed between weisiang and me that aaron will be paying for the courts for the next few weeks.

sleeping sunday

Author: JT   |  Jun 2nd, 2008

either life’s been good or it’s really god damn boring recently.

woke up in the morning, had a bowl of rice and went to bed again.

wasn’t until 8+pm when aaron called that i finally woke up and got out of my room.

went to boon lay for dinner, supposed to have botak jones but i wasn’t in the mood for it so had some awful tasting kway chup.

bought a few drinks and went to somewhere nearby to have a chat.

i accidentally opened my friend’s drink meant for his ex-girlfriend and had to go buy back another bottle of the awful tasting strawberry drink for him.

why would a guy buy a bottle of water for his ex-girlfriend when she clearly doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore?

people say girls are hard to understand, i think some guys are even harder to understand.

love and hate, they are but a fine line.

i might not have the guts to tell you this in the face but if you’re reading this, i hope you get yourself a new life and throw the one away.

the more you don’t get over the relationship, the more she finds you disgusting.

face it, she doesn’t want you anymore…PERIOD!

we were deciding when to have our badminton sessions since it was a long time since we had a good session.

just to state a couple of problems we encountered during the discussion.

  • one of us decides to live a healthy lifestyle and sleep at 11pm daily thus refusing to play at night like we all used to.
  • we wanted a time and day that we can get other people to come in to play as well.

we used to play on friday nights but we will then have to find someone to come in as the 4th player, which i think, isn’t that hard to do since the next day is a saturday and not everyone works 5 1/2 day week.

we also used to play on sunday nights with the bunch of people from the darkside and i find this session the most enjoyable, only problem was that we had to get someone from the darkside to join us as the 4th player.

what i don’t understand is the theory on this…

after playing badminton on friday nights, we will waste 1/2 a day on saturday since we will be sleeping and resting from the tiring night.

but does playing on saturday or sunday morning solve the issue?

i would rather play a good and tiring game on friday nights, have a good night rest and then enjoy the next afternoon feeling refreshed when i go out rather than waste a friday night sleeping early to wake up early on a saturday morning for a tiring game of badminton and then go out feeling tired and lifeless.

i love badminton and i love my 2 friends but this really sounds illogical to me.

i don’t work or study 3 days a week, i work 5 days a week. i wake up early for 5 days and expect to sleep in late for the weekends. cruel as it may sound but i can’t lead the student life anymore.

a student can choose his own sleeping timings and have the time to sleep and wake up at any time they want, if you want to lead a healthy lifestyle, there’s always employment after studying and that’s when you NEED to sleep at 11pm.

if you can sleep 12 hours a day now, better sleep more often then, you don’t get a chance to do that often once you enter the working world.

i’m not looking or wanting things my way, i’m looking at the most logical way.

and that’s my 2 cents worth.

ducks and speed racer

Author: JT   |  May 11th, 2008

we had an agreement to catch a movie after the exhibition so trond and i went down to vivo city after packing up.

actually wanted to watch the super hero movie but it wasn’t available anymore so settled for speed racer at 9.15pm,

since we still had a couple of hours, we went for dinner at dian siao er, had always wanted to try their famous roast duck.

2nd duck meal in 1 day…

ordered a few dishes, the famous 10 spice roast duck, dong puo rou, some pea sprouts (i think they are called pea sprouts) and a soup.

my opinion of the food?

i’ll never be back there again…ever!

i remember watching the cartoon when i was very little and have always like cars with special gadgets ever since then.

this show is not just about super cars or racing but it actually touches a little on life.

good show, worth the money even for weekends and really enjoyable…

watch it if you’re a fan of speed racer…

watch it if you’ve no idea what speed racer is…

just watch it!

downside of the show?

it’s over 2 hours.

-

we didn’t expect the show to last that long so trond was kinda late and couldn’t send me back, his girlfriend was at home in shanghai waiting for him to reach home.

wanted to take a cab back as i was late for badminton but the queue was crazy so ended up taking 97 back to jurong east before changing to a cab.

had a encounter with a drunkard on the bus but he left me alone after giving him a deadly stare…the guy at the back of me wasn’t that lucky thought.

-

rushed back to change and get my rackets and went to meet aaron, weisiang, junling & girlfriend for badminton.

it was a total wasted trip as they were not in the mood for badminton at all,

was kinda pissed off, if you don’t feel like playing then don’t play, why spoil the mood for everyone.

exhibition, day 2

Author: JT   |  May 10th, 2008

had a really good night’s rest, fell asleep around 8pm and got up at around 8.30am…was just too damn tired.

got mom to drive me to expo and reached there quite early, decided to hang around outside the exhibition hall for a while before going in since no one has arrived yet.

somehow realised my fly was undone but found out shortly later that it wasn’t undone, it was spoiled!

couldn’t find safety pins so tried to innovate by using velcro tape and it actually works…temporary anyway.

went for lunch with trond, wanted to eat at the food court since it was probably the cheapest around but no, that rich friend of mine just had to walk further to some restaurant for lunch.

had a plate of fried rice and shared some spring rolls and xiao long bao which was quite good i think, but the skin was just too thick!

and a simple meal like this which wasn’t particularly great and didn’t fill me up properly cost almost $40.

teck kin came for a visit and was quite impressed with our exhibits, i’ll probably still need his help in this field since i’m still very new to it.

trond decided to leave early since he had meeting the next morning so he drove me down to bugis to meet aaron and weisiang.

saw puppyz at the mrt but he didn’t hear me calling him…i think.

oh well, ingrates will be ingrates.

met up with aaron, weisiang and another of aaron’s friend, went for a couple of pool games and then went for dinner.

we were all quite bored so decided to just go back to jurong and play badminton instead of hanging around in town.

-

i seriously think there’s something wrong with weisiang recently cause he just simply seem to bochup about others’ feelings and do everything his way. guessing it has something to do with his recent breakup.

-

saw the car that i wanted to buy and pointed it out to aaron and weisiang who both commented negatively and aggressively.

i’m the one driving it anyway so why should i be bothered.

-

went for badminton but didn’t play much, aaron’s friend was a noob and it wasn’t much fun for any one side to be handicapped. talked around till almost 4.30am before going home.
