neeeeee soooooon

Author: JT   |  Aug 12th, 2008

was late for work but still managed to get in without any suspicions, spent 1/2 the day getting ready for the presentation tomorrow for smrt, hopefully we’ll be able to work something out with them.

my mom invited charlie together with his uncle and kid for dinner. they were in singapore just for a few days as the kid needed to get treatment for one of his eyes that was injured during an accident a couple of years ago.

it was also to return a favour since i had dinner at this particular uncle’s place when i was in vietnam. this is the husband of the aunty who cooked 3 different kinds of shell creatures for dinner last saturday in vietnam.

since my mom has nothing to do anyway, she fetched us back to charlie’s place before trond came to pick me up. we needed to go down to neesoon camp to pick up some screws from teck kin’s van. he forgot to return them to us after the nokia event at singfest.

it was kinda weird driving up to an army camp and telling them i need to get something from a vehicle that’s parked inside and it was even weirder that we were allowed to pass without them asking us any questions.

however the weirdest thing that happened when we were in the camp got the 2 of us driving out of the camp like mad.

after getting the screw from teck kin’s van, i decided to smoke before going off and after smoking, i just did what i normally do and fling the cigarette far away. a couple of minutes later when we got into the car, we could smell a strong cigarette smell in the car. knowing very well that i fling the cigarette far away, i told trond to just drive off with the windows open and hope the smell goes away…and sure enough, once we got to the guardhouse, there wasn’t any smell left.

seeing how it was 7th month, we decided to just leave it alone and not be bothered about it.

imperial treasures

Author: JT   |  Aug 2nd, 2008

slept at around 2pm and told myself to get up at 5pm to return to singfest but i was so tired i slept till 8pm. had like 30 miss calls and 15 smses.

everything seemed to be fine at singfest so i decided to meet colin (low) and kc for dinner. i had totally forgotten about having dinner with them so i took a cab down to meet them at ngee ann city.

it was supposed to be my treat for finding a new job so those 2 suckers booked a table at imperial treasures.

4 dishes totalling up to $109, signed on my dbs card.

the food was actually quite good but the portion was pathetic and i was still hungry even after 2 bowls of rice, should have just gone to a normal coffeeshop for zi cha and imagine what dishes we can get for $100.

anyway, the next treat is from kc. it’s his promised treat since he’ll be taking commission from my cpf investment that i invested through him.

mortons!

took a walk after dinner and ended up at centerpoint macdonalds having supper. 20 pieces of nuggets, 1 mini coke and a strawberry milkshake…of course the nuggets were shared lah!

met up with eric for 5 minutes to collect the singfest’s money from him before taking a cab back home.

kfc dinner & durian supper

Author: JT   |  Jul 29th, 2008

boring day at work…can’t even remember what i did in office.

went back on the dot since aunty susan was sending me a lift back.

was pondering to have dinner or not when shawn called me for dinner so accompanied him to the kfc around my place for dinner.

tried the new value meal and it wasn’t anything fantastic although i must say the scrooms burger is better than what it used to be. it tasted like puke the last time i tried it when i was part timing for singnet.

went back after dinner and met up with shenton at around 11.30pm for a durian supper. bought 3 for $20 and it was really good. much better than the $45 for 3 at damsey that i had with charlie and trond which was supposedly famous.

there were so much flesh that we couldn’t finish them, had to waste at least 8 seeds since we did not bring any containers to put them in.

had a long and chat till around 1.30am before going back.

i think i’m turning into a durian-colic.

medium well or medium rare?

Author: JT   |  Jul 25th, 2008

had lunch at ichiban sushi with trond and gabriel, had to discuss about our master plan for the network infrastructure.

damage of $60+ on my uob card.

went over to simlim with trond in the late afternoon to return the 4 air mouse we bought and also to place order for 50 pieces of 1gb thumbdrive for the office.

also paid a visit to david to push him for the server quotation as he has been delaying it for some time and most of us (trond, charlie and myself) will be going overseas very soon.

-

was supposed to meet rw after simlim but rw cancelled on me due to work commitments. that leaves me high and dry for the friday night.

called charlie but he had other plans already.

managed to get vincent and geraldine, who were just around the corner, to meet up for dinner and maybe a later movie. met up at cityhall and wanted to eat something cheap and light there but couldn’t find anything to suit us so we walked over to marina square hoping to find something good.

geraldine was camwhoring with vincent along the way so i whipped out my camera and camwhored them camwhoring…

after walking for almost an hour and passed 7 different restaurants, we finally decided on a restaurant in marina square called changing appetites. it was something like cafe cartel but looks better so we decided to give it a try.

ordered a nachos cheese steak, medium well, for myself and chicken fajitas to share. vincent ordered some other steak while geraldine ordered the same steak as mine, medium rare.

they somehow got our orders mixed up and i got the medium rare instead of the medium well but we didn’t realise it until i was 1/2 into the steak. made a complain but geraldine didn’t want to change her steak for fear of additional ingredients.

paid for the dinner, damage of $111 on my uob card.

birthdays birthdays birthdays

Author: JT   |  Jul 23rd, 2008

wishing both trond and chan leek a very happy birthday!

ordered a cake to celebrate their birthdays but trond left just 5 minutes before the cake was delivered so we decided to leave the celebration for tomorrow.

-

charlie and i went down to vivocity after work to meet trond for dinner to celebrate his birthday. glad i made a reservation at carnivore cause the queue was crazy even thought it was a wednesday.

the food there is as great as ever but only meat lovers like me will appreciate the food there. although i love the meat there, my favourite dish is still the the grilled pineapple. i don’t really like eating pineapples but the grilled pineapples served at carnivore is just different, juicy and grilled are the best words i can think off.

statue of vivo city…again

food food food! love the meat, love the pineapple, love almost everything!

i simply can’t understand why trond took all the greens, it’s carnivore and not herbivore…and the alfalfa grass looks damn like dyed pubic hair.

the waiter recommended this drink to me and it tasted really good but i’ve no freaking idea what it is

too busy eating to pose

okay, that’s better!

went to the supermarket after dinner wanting to get some fruits for my mom but the price was crazily high so decided not to buy any.

trond roamed into the self-fix diy stall and almost bought the whole shelf of insect repellents, thank goodness the place was closing otherwise he would have cleared their whole stock.

here we see charlie and trond reliving their childhood. i so wanted to put in a dollar coin but i didn’t have any coins with me.

teppanyaki

Author: JT   |  Jul 7th, 2008

charlie insisted of treating trond and i for dinner so we went to the teppanyaki restaurant at jurong hill, been wanting to eat there for sometime but kept putting it off.

i didn’t feel like making charlie pay so much since he’s from overseas and not really earning a lot so i asked trond if the place was expensive before deciding. he assured me that the food there was rather fresh & cheap compared to others.

cheap? yeah right!

we ordered 3 main dishes to share (steak, chicken & king prawn) although i didn’t eat any prawns and a side dish of mushroom for teppanyaki. we also ordered each of us a bowl of garlic rice, which was pathetically little and a bowl of miso soup that reminds me of the one from yoshinoya. i’m not a miser and i’m not whining over paying a bowl of rice but $5 for a small bowl of rice and $3.20 for a bowl of soup? i can probably buy a small packet of rice for that price.

total price $120!

i do agree that the food’s fresh, very fresh indeed and the chef was very skilled, so skilled that he can peal off the king prawn’s head perfectly with his teppanyaki tools in less than a second. actually he’s one of the most skilled teppanyaki chefs i’ve met.

other than fresh food, skilled chef, way expensive prices…the only other thing to cover is the taste.

oh wait…what taste?

it was plain tasteless! i think they should cater to people with diabetes cause the food was just plain tasteless!

was too hungry and engross in the chef that i forgot to take pictures of the food

here’s a picture of the entrance to the restaurant, i’m not sure if it’s 3 different restaurants since it’s all connected.

free desserts! i had honeydew sago while charlie and trond ordered mango pudding. i would say this is the best dish of the night.

walked up the lighthouse after dinner for some beautiful night scenes

the photos doesn’t do the scene justice, think it’s time to rtfm (read the fucking manual).

shopping spree & movie

Author: JT   |  Jul 2nd, 2008

was half asleep on the bus when shawn called, he wanted to meet me at jurong point for dinner and since i was already heading towards that direction, i agreed.

saw a small citibank branch near the mrt and decided to sign up for the credit cards. have been wanting to sign up for it for sometime and since i was already there, i decided to sign up. luckily, i had all my documents with me so the process was a breeze, all i had to do was for them to fill up the form on my behalf and just sign on the dotted line. approval takes just 1 day so i can probably pick up the cards from the same place tomorrow after work.

each person is limited to 3 cards so i choice the dividend card (5% rebate for petrol), citibank m1 card (additional m1 bill discounts) and the clear platinum card (for partying).

1 bank down, 4 more to go.

passed a sonyericsson shop on the way to jurong point so decided to get the earpiece for trond. he has been whining about breaking his old earpiece so bought him a new one. he’s my boss afterall.

was walking along world of sports where i chanced upon a pair of slippers that i like.

damage - $12

just when i was about to pay for it, i saw this nice pair of sandals so decided to get it as well. my old pair from ecco hardly lasted a year and it wasn’t comfortable but this pair of teva sandals was just right for me.

damage - $89

also got a new badminton racket grip from sports link. it was rather costly for a grip but i like the feel so didn’t mind the extra few bucks.

damage - $9.90

wanted to get the adidas water bottle as well but realise that i don’t really use it so left the shop quickly in case i change my mind.

shawn was dead hungry by now so i left dinner’s decision to him. he suggested long john but the only seats available were deep inside and it felt like an oven there so decided to move somewhere cooler.

ended up at mos burger, at least the air there is cooler…i hate sweating in an air-conditioned place.

it was still early so we decided to go for a movie…either wanted or hancock.

i seriously think the storyline is crap but loved the effects, i think it would be better if they got someone else for the main role.

i would rate it as a weekday movie, definitely not a show you want to catch on weekends.

took a cab back after the movie as it was already late and i had a lot of stuffs with me, just wanted to get home and lie on the bed.

p/s: yiteng, got pictures liao, happy?

carl’s junior

Author: JT   |  Jun 24th, 2008

busy busy day in office, left office around 10am to meet a company that sells holographic screens, turns out to be not something we wanted so it was a rather wasted trip.

lost our way on our way back and ended up around punggol but we managed to get to the expressway only to take a wrong turn ending up near tampinese.

since we were already in the east, we decided to try the yong tao hu that trond has recommended but i think it was bad. not only was it bad, it was expensive too, a freaking $18.90 for 2 persons.

finally made our way back to office and trond went out again for a meeting with some overseas clients forgetting that we were supposed to have a meeting with another solutions company at 2pm. ended up attending the meeting myself but i’m glad it went well.

was super busy throughout the day and it was already 7.30pm before i knew it. wanted to actually cut my hair today but my personal hairdresser wasn’t free so i went down to vivo with trond to do some scouting on the touchscreens used by ocbc.

had a quick dinner at carl’s junior before going home, supposed to finish up some work in office but i’m feeling kinda lazy…will probably do it in office tomorrow morning.

multiple roles

Author: JT   |  Jun 20th, 2008

late for work again but who cares anyway, i bet no one’s gonna pin me down for being a few minutes late everyday since i stay back way later than most of the people.

went for breakfast with charlie at the coffeeshop some 10 minutes walk away, we usually go there for lunch but this is the first time i’m there for breakfast.

had a plate of noodles with some side dishes, the food neither look or tasted good but i was hungry so didn’t care much, kinda regret the moment i reached office thought…had a sudden stomachache.

i ended up shitting 4-5 times in the morning alone cause of the food, guess this will be the very last time i’ll be there for breakfast…i rather starve and wait for lunch where the food was nicer and cleaner.

changed into a polo t-shirt that i brought along before i went for lunch, the weather was just too crazily hot to be wearing a long sleeve shirt anyway.

had a quick lunch and rushed back to office, i had to go to the loo again and there was no way i gonna use the toilets there at the coffeeshop.

charlie’s brother and cousin came to the office for a visit after lunch, they were probably checking on how charlie was doing but giving us the excuse that they wanted to know more about our products.

right after the presentation for charlie’s brother and cousin, there was another meeting with trond and some guys from some IT company that might be helping us upgrade our existing network.

most of us here have multiple roles in the company…something like a core 2 dual processor.

i was suppose to attend school today but didn’t feel like going so decided to go out and have dinner with trond at vivo city. wanted to actually catch a movie but timings weren’t suitable so decided to give it a miss.

met my renault salesman in their renault roadshow in vivocity and reminded him to move my car out from the showroom and polish it before handling me the keys.

went for dinner at sakae sushi, was feeling hungry but didn’t have much appetite so ate only 6 coloured plates. trond ate 7 plates and was still hungry but stopped because he said he felt fat.

duh!

went back after that but was still early so met up with shawn and went to macdonalds to accompany him study for his exam tomorrow.

i think studying for exams at macdonalds is a wrong thing to do cause shawn ended up looking at people more than studying. left the place around 11.30pm and rushed back for clan war which was eventually postponed.

the pain in my leg’s killing me, thank goodness my doctor’s appointment is tomorrow, hopefully he can do something about it as it has been months since i got injured.

shopping saturday

Author: JT   |  Jun 14th, 2008

as it turns out, i didn’t get to leave at 12.30pm as i intended to, i ended up leaving the place at 1pm.

better than nothing right?

went for lunch opposite saftimi, wanted to try the pasta but it was closed so i settled for the curry rice. after spending almost 2 years in saftimi during my younger days and having eaten at the coffeeshop there countless times, i’ve never actually tried the curry rice although everyone tells me it’s good.

and it was really good! the curry was thick and the flavour wasn’t too overwhelming, it was just right.

went back home after lunch and went to bed almost immediately, was just too tired to do anything else.

woke up again at 6pm and decided to accompany my mom for some grocery shopping at bukit timah and also to have dinner.

went to this restaurant that i frequently visited when i was young and had a pot of claypot chicken rice and chef salad. the claypot chicken tasted the same as when i last had it more than 10 years ago.

although i love the food there then, i somehow didn’t quite like it now after so many years…i guess my taste buds has improved after all these years and yearn for better food.

went wild shopping at the high class ntuc there and went home with countless bags.

planned to actually blog at night but was too engrossed in battlestations so that explains the delay in this post.

better late than never right?
