the day i cried cause of a man

Author: JT   |  Jun 23rd, 2008

i did my best to hold in my tears,

but still, they fell to the ground in big droplets,

i was lying on the chair face down,

with him standing behind me,

his hands on my thighs…

now, don’t think of wierd stuffs, the “he” i’m referring to is my chiropractic and i’m in tears cause of the pain.

went down to see him early in the morning, was late for my appointment cause of bad traffic but he still attended to me first.

my left leg was still bad and now my back hurts too.

i don’t know how to discribe what he did but it was so painful i teared automatically, luckily i had tissue paper with me.

after almost 40 minutes of treatment, my back felt much better but my leg still felt the pain…i need another 3-4 treatments, he claimed.

at $75 per session, i surely hope he’ll be able to cure my leg since it has been giving me loads of problems since the beginning of the year.

called trond to pick me up since he was staying around the corner but he lost his way. yeah, for someone who stays in town, he can actually lose his way in orchard.

reached office around 10.30am, kinda late but who cares anyway.

the day my chiropractic scolded me

Author: JT   |  Jun 21st, 2008

my leg wasn’t healing so i decided to resume my appointments with my chiropractic. made an appointment for 2.30pm which means i have to leave office halfway.

went for lunch with the whole neublick team, namely sofie, trond, charlie and myself, at boon lay before getting a free ride back home.

we were supposed to go to my cousin’s grandfather’s (not my side) wake so picked up my granny along the way before going over to park mall where my chiropractic is.

saw my first gtr 35 up close and personal at the carpark, it’s really a dream car, a car i would prefer over a porsche anytime.

went up to my chiropractic and didn’t have to wait very long this time, had the usual bone cracking, nerve wreaking massages and i could feel my muscles actually loosening up.

he gave me a scolding after that while i was still on the bed with a super hot water bag on my back, i tried lying to him that i was not actively exercising but just couldn’t convince him. he then gave me an ultimatum of not doing any sports for the next 6 months.

no badminton, no swimming, no blading???

for 6 months???

kill me ba!!

went over to the wake and my mom (like all women do) starting gossiping about everything under the sun especially my new car and my bad leg.

sharon came to my rescue by saying she needed to go orchard to run some errands so all 4 of us cousins decided to just hand around in orchard instead of torturing our ears at the wake.

had dinner at wheelock’s place, sakae sushi again!

2nd time in 2 days.

it was sharon’s treat for the day so i decided to pay for cab fare back to the wake.

got back and did what we did best at funerals, mahjong!

played with sharon, melvin and our granny and the 3 cousins ended up winning the granny.

was supposed to go at around 8.30pm since sharon’s boyfriend had something to do but we ended up playing till almost 10.30pm before deciding to go home.

multiple roles

Author: JT   |  Jun 20th, 2008

late for work again but who cares anyway, i bet no one’s gonna pin me down for being a few minutes late everyday since i stay back way later than most of the people.

went for breakfast with charlie at the coffeeshop some 10 minutes walk away, we usually go there for lunch but this is the first time i’m there for breakfast.

had a plate of noodles with some side dishes, the food neither look or tasted good but i was hungry so didn’t care much, kinda regret the moment i reached office thought…had a sudden stomachache.

i ended up shitting 4-5 times in the morning alone cause of the food, guess this will be the very last time i’ll be there for breakfast…i rather starve and wait for lunch where the food was nicer and cleaner.

changed into a polo t-shirt that i brought along before i went for lunch, the weather was just too crazily hot to be wearing a long sleeve shirt anyway.

had a quick lunch and rushed back to office, i had to go to the loo again and there was no way i gonna use the toilets there at the coffeeshop.

charlie’s brother and cousin came to the office for a visit after lunch, they were probably checking on how charlie was doing but giving us the excuse that they wanted to know more about our products.

right after the presentation for charlie’s brother and cousin, there was another meeting with trond and some guys from some IT company that might be helping us upgrade our existing network.

most of us here have multiple roles in the company…something like a core 2 dual processor.

i was suppose to attend school today but didn’t feel like going so decided to go out and have dinner with trond at vivo city. wanted to actually catch a movie but timings weren’t suitable so decided to give it a miss.

met my renault salesman in their renault roadshow in vivocity and reminded him to move my car out from the showroom and polish it before handling me the keys.

went for dinner at sakae sushi, was feeling hungry but didn’t have much appetite so ate only 6 coloured plates. trond ate 7 plates and was still hungry but stopped because he said he felt fat.

duh!

went back after that but was still early so met up with shawn and went to macdonalds to accompany him study for his exam tomorrow.

i think studying for exams at macdonalds is a wrong thing to do cause shawn ended up looking at people more than studying. left the place around 11.30pm and rushed back for clan war which was eventually postponed.

the pain in my leg’s killing me, thank goodness my doctor’s appointment is tomorrow, hopefully he can do something about it as it has been months since i got injured.

doctor & late night supper

Author: JT   |  May 13th, 2008

spent the rest of the day resting on my bed, the pain was getting unbearable and my mom was on the verge of sending me to the hospital since i was sweating cold sweat by buckets.

made a mental note to visit the nearby clinic later in the night to get some pain killers it gets a little better.

out of nowhere, nelson, a classmate of mine from hong kah, called me to accompany him to a clinic, he wants to get a 2 day mc to rest at home.

chao keng!

got him to come over my place and act as a human walking stick while we both went to the nearby clinic to see the doctor and we both got our wish, he got his 2 days mc and i got my pain killers which cost me $40…wtf!

trond needed to meet me to give me a briefing on product information before tomorrow’s meeting with the whole neublick team so he met me at the doctor’s and went for supper at mcdonalds.

fudgie was supposed to help fix my mom’s computer but didn’t get anything done, probably will have to make a trip down to sim lim tomorrow, don’t have the time to do the troubleshooting myself, rather pay the shops $20 to fix it.

dad’s first anniversary & a pissed off jack tan

Author: JT   |  May 13th, 2008

time really flies, it has already been 1 year since my dad passed on and it feels like just a few months ago.

woke up early in the morning, mom needed to pick up my granny and 6th uncle before going down to the columbarium at chua chu kang.

the meeting time was supposed to be 10.30am but i think i gave my elder brother the wrong timing and he arrived at 10am instead, since there was a huge jam in clementi towards town, i decided to take a cab down to the columbarium first while my mom continued on her journey to pick up granny and 6th uncle.

realised that my 2 elder sisters weren’t coming, there were already there on sunday to pay their respect since they couldn’t make it today. had a long chat with my brother, talked about cars, careers, dreams and a whole lot of other stuffs while smoking.

and he supports my decision to get the renault!

it’s just so cool to have an older brother who smokes with you!

waited for almost an hour before my mom finally showed up. my 6th uncle’s wife was also with them which meant i’ll probably not be sitting my mom’s car back.

prayed, burn paper, prayed again, burn more paper, prayed more and finally done!

my mom’s car was full (doh!) so had to take a lift from my brother, he was on his way to chua chu kang to pick his wife up so it was on the way.

we were both still early for our appointments so he drove us to his new house around the place and gave me a short tour. it was actually very near the bukit batok driving center and the place was huge.

wish i had a 3 storey house to stay in…

supposed to meet up with weixiang, aaron and colin for a jb trip at 1pm kranji mrt but it was still darn early so decided to walk around lot1 to waste some time.

met hufeng and realised she’s already married to hanwei, congrats!

called weixiang and he was feeling sick so he’ll be giving the trip a miss, both aaron and colin were obviously going to be late.

what happened next was something that made me see red and i just exploded…big time!

right from the start of the trip, i’ve already make known that the pain in my leg is terrible and i somehow i would expect my friends to take that into consideration when stepping out in another country,

but oh no, they just had to fucking jump over the divider and board the bus while i had to limp to where the divider started some 20 meters away and the bus was gone by the time i got to the boarding bay.

what kinda friends will do such a thing??? and moreover, we were already halfway on another country’s soil.

knowing my leg was giving me problems, why the hell do you need to be so impatient and not wait for me?

and i was just a few steps away from the bus when it left, why can’t you just signal the driver to wait for just a couple more seconds?

and even if the driver refuses to wait for the couple more seconds, it won’t kill you to fucking alight the bus and wait with me for the next one.

at least, this is what I WOULD DO IF I WERE IN YOUR SHOES.

and what’s with the fucking sms on being a fat liability,

i, for sure, DO NOT want my leg to be injured,

i DID NOT choose to be injured,

i DON’T WANT to be injured in the first place,

it’s NOT my choice that my leg fucking hurts.

if you think i’m a liability since my leg hurts, then don’t agree to coming in the first place.

and it’s not your fault that the bus left? oh the driver’s fault right?

WHOSE FUCKING IDEA WAS IT TO JUMP OVER THE DAMN DIVIDER AND NOW YOU BLAME THE BUS DRIVER?

every time, every fucking time i meet you, there’s a 98% chance of you being late but did i grumble?

have i ever made a huge fuss?

i lived with it!

i lived with it cause i respected you as a friend and took your bad time management as part of the friendship.

will it kill you to just wait for me in return for that few seconds?

will it kill you to walk with me around the divider since i obviously had problem walking?

will it kill you to have missed that first bus?

what’s the use of rushing through the customs, we’re not playing amazing race or something, we have all the time in the world…for the day.

we are good friends and i thank you for that but at least give me that little respect as a friend,

i don’t want to be fat, i can’t help being fat.

i don’t want my leg to hurt, i can’t help feeling the pain.

i didn’t choose to be that way.

you don’t hear me calling you an ugly old fart do you?

and so, this is what happened at the malaysian customs…

i went to city square myself, had lunch at mcdonalds before coming back to singapore.

funan, dim sum and cars

Author: JT   |  May 12th, 2008

woke up with my leg hurting like hell, the pain’s back to what it used to be when it first started, i think i really gotta do something about it. physiotherapy is kinda useless so i think i’ll go back to the specialist at park mall.

think i better call them up tomorrow to make appointment.

supposed to meet trond in funan to look at the switches but waited for the damn bus for almost 30 minutes and it’s just a feeder service, talk about world class transport system…

ended up taking a cab over which cost me $15, now i’m damn broke!

the only switches we managed to find were dlink ones and the shop we went to didn’t even have the prices on hand.

walked around and i bought a ramli burger since i was so darn hungry.

trond refused to eat anything at funan and wanted dim sum so i suggested the one at cathay which was highly recommended by colin.

it was indeed very good but since trond was paying, i didn’t order much…might psycho my mom to come tomorrow before my driving since my granny is staying with us.

went down to leng kee after that to look at cars, wanted to have a look at the new mazda 6 but soon realise that there wasn’t a mazda showroom in leng kee.

had a look at the renault convertible and i think i fell in love with it, a little bigger and a little more expensive than the peugeot 207cc but the fuel consumption was much better. the car also has a glass roof instead of the normal hard covers and has almost everything that the 207cc has.

from what i heard from yiteng, renault is a better choice than peugeot so i just might consider getting this one…in bright yellow!

also went to see the legacy 2.0 gt and impreza 2.0 gt at the nissan showroom.

the new impreza is a total put off but for the price they are selling it for, we’ll be sure to see plenty of them on the roads soon.

the legacy 2.0 gt was cheap, more powerful than the lancer 2.0 and the civic 2.0 and has great fuel consumption…

bad points of the car?

the leather really stink, the interior is god damn ugly, the mirrors aren’t auto, the gearbox and handbrake is fugly and the car was too big to my liking.

i wanted something smaller than normal sedans which is easier to park.

also saw the opel astral convertible which was the most expensive compared to renault and peugeot and the least powerful. at 1.8cc, the fuel consumption is crazy, the interior is worse than normal japanese cars and the service there was shitty.

no opels for me for sure!

trond wasn’t feeling too well so he dropped me off at bona vista mrt and i took a bus back from there.

my leg’s still hurting like crazy!

badminton practice

Author: JT   |  Apr 21st, 2008

went for my first badminton session in almost 2 1/2 months and i think all 3 of us (weisiang, aaron and myself) have lost some skills somewhere.

as expected, my leg didn’t hold out well and the pain was unbearable after an hour…should have taken pain killers before the session.

didn’t play much due to the pain but weisiang and aaron played on, it was more of picking up the shuttlecocks then playing actually…

lol!

taught aaron how to serve properly but he just can’t seem to relax his body, probably needs more practice on his swing.

also passed the new racket to aaron to wrap for me, i kinda suck at these things so he’ll probably do a much better job at it.

went back at 4am and went to bed at almost 5am.

woke up again at 8.30am to get ready for work at trond’s company and feeling wuzzy now due to the lack of sleep.

let’s hope i won’t fall asleep in office.

accident on my first practical lesson

Author: JT   |  Mar 28th, 2008

theoretically it’s not my first lesson and theoretically, i didn’t get into an accident…

but another student did.

so if you guys have clicked on this post with some cruel mind set, TOO BAD!

attended my first final theory lesson at 9.50am and it was wayyyyyyy boring!

the second lesson which was right after the first wasn’t that interesting as well, the “lecturer” couldn’t even speak proper english and i think most of the class had no idea wtf he was mumbling about throughout the lesson.

then went for my final theory practice and scored 100% for the first 2 books and 97% for the 3rd, feeling confident, i didn’t do the rest of the books and went for an early break.

and this was when i saw the accident…

the smoking area was filled with people and the air wasn’t moving so i decided to just walk out to the main road and smoke, it was also the time where students doing their practical was coming back into the center.

my back was facing the 2 cars during the accident so i didn’t really catch what happened but a taxi apparently crashed into 1 of the training cars…

within a couple of minutes, all the instructors smoking at the smoking area were rushing to the scene and i could hear the cab driving hurling abuses at the trainer and trainee of the car.

oh well…too bad i didn’t have my camera with me or else i would have taken some great shots.

the accident wasn’t too serious anyway and the crowd was getting ridiculers so i walked back to the driving center.

still full of confidence from my final theory practice, i went for the final theory evaluation right away and…

i failed!

got 88% and the passing mark was 90%…

damn!

to make things worse, i didn’t draw any money thinking that there’ll be an atm at the driving center but i was wrong,

i was left with 15c in my wallet and due to my close bookings of lessons, i didn’t have enough time to go out for lunch or draw money.

and thus i went for my first practical lesson at 4pm with an empty stomach.

practical lesson was quite fun, the instructor knew i was retaking my license so i got to drive right from the start and went out to the main road just after 2 rounds in the circuit.

went round the bukit batok estate and i was soooooooo bored at driving at the speed limits, checking blind spots just for show, not being able to overtake when i could normally, unable to rev the engine at the traffic light to prevent the irritating taxis from overtaking me and to keep reminding myself to keep the 2 second rule.

oh well, at least i got to lesson 1.10 within the first practical, hopefully i do better during my second practical tomorrow.

also booked my final theory test which is on 14th june, couldn’t find any slots before that and here i was hoping that i could get my license before june…

met hanxiong, a fairfield classmate of mine who was taking his traffic police test, he scored 48 points with 2 immediate failures, lol!

better not laugh at people too much just in case the karma comes back to me.

my legs started hurting as well, been climbing too many flights of steps in bbdc going up and down the classrooms…hopefully will be better after a night’s rest.

-

my legs felt like jelly by the time i got home, probably from not eating anything the whole day so i packed some food from the coffee shop near my place.

a box of fried rice, a box of vegetables and a box of creamy pork ribs…i think it was an overkill but i still managed to gobble up everything, too hungry!

the chiropractic, part II

Author: JT   |  Mar 20th, 2008

almost forgot i have an appointment with my chiropractic in the morning,

got pulled up early in the morning by my mom and reached there still 1/2 asleep at 10am.

i guess i was the first patient of the day…too bad no discounts for it.

when he found out i was also having physiotherapy with nuh, he advised me to stop it cause to him, they were doing more harm than good.

this is going to be a tough decision, i must admit his skills are much better but how can i just give up on my sweet looking physiotherapist?

for the possible sake of my future, i think i’ll attend both regardless of how much pain i’ve to go through.

as the saying goes, “no pain no gain”…

yet another explaination

Author: JT   |  Mar 13th, 2008

was a little late for my hospital appointment today, just 7 minutes actually and there were already 5 patients queuing up in front of me (their appointment times were all after me),

waited for more than 45 minutes before my number was called.

actually one of the nurses wanted me to see the doctor that i saw last week but i politely refused, saying i needed more opinions.

managed to limp into the room with the help of my faithful umbrella (this is the 3rd one already, hopefully i’ll not break anymore or else my mom will start her mamapause again) and i almost mistaken the doctor for a monkey.

i swear the hair on his arms are longer than my hair!

anyway, he was friendly and took the trouble to explain everything in detail even thought i was having problems with his heavy indian accent.

and he went on saying the bone (that isn’t in place) is actually from birth and not broken (wtf???) and the problem i’m facing is a muscle and not a bone problem.

oh okay…

thank god (for him) that my mom wasn’t around.

oh well, at least he really took the trouble of explaining to me in detail on the situation of my leg and how i should go about getting it healed.

now, this is the kind of doctor that i really respect.

got some painkillers and a cream to apply as well as an appointment date to start my physiotherapy on both legs.

rw picked me up by cab and sent me back.
