a wasted trip?

Author: JT   |  Nov 21st, 2007

took 1/2 day off with the intention to accompany “that lost friend” to fix up the protective cover for the iphone.

went all the way down to ang mo kio hub and waited for almost 2 hours just to realise that “tlf” was in yio chu kang.

sometimes, there are somethings that are better left unsaid…

went to yishun to fix up the cover before sending “tlf” back home.

didn’t go as well as i had hope but at least it was a start.

was hoping we could talk more but the conversations we had were kinda monotonous.

sigh.

i shall still keep that hope…

the birthday present, part 6

Author: JT   |  Nov 18th, 2007

i was expecting myself to wake up earlier but slept till almost 2pm…

things yet to do…

1) go down to yishun to put the “i shield” protective layer for the iphone

2) go down to orchard to get the martin fields screen protector for the iphone

3) go down to trond’s place to get the frozen meatballs

4) go home quickly to make the cheese sauce for the meatballs

eta 9pm..

-

the guy in yishun called to say the stock hasn’t arrived yet…being desperate, i banked the money to him first so “that lost friend” could just go down to yishun and get it done without me.

went down to orchard to get the martin fields…it was the last piece, damn lucky!

took a cab down to trond’s place to pick up the meatballs from his maid.

went home and made the cheese sauce.

-

got everything done, packed and wrapped nicely by 7.30pm and decided to go meet “that lost friend” earlier.

the birthday present, part 5

was having some problems with the new iphone that i just got from trond so went down to mark (ng)’s place since he claims he could fix it,

my trust in him was again proven wrong so we had to take a cab down (this was at 3am) to yew tee to look for alvin for help.

luckily alvin could salvage the problem, otherwise mark’s head will be rolling on the floor now.

now the phone’s fully cracked and ready to serve its purpose as a birthday present.

keeping my fingers crossed…

the art of making meatballs

Author: JT   |  Nov 17th, 2007

//update//

i finally took the time to sit down and blog so i’m rewriting all these 1/2 fucked posts

-

miao sui agreed to come over to trond’s place with me to help out in the making of meatballs…

for the benefit of those who don’t know, i’m making the meatballs for a particular friend of mine,

let’s just call this friend “that lost friend”.

we headed for the cold storage at great world city to get all the necessary ingredients, think it would be much cheaper if we bought it at ntuc or seng shiong but hey, it’s trond we’re talking about!

bought all the things we needed and more…

the total cost at around $130 was above my budget but hope it’ll be worth it.

reached trond’s place at around 4pm, this gives us 2 1/2 hours as trond has to go for dinner with his family at 7.

i was really surprised both trond and miao sui were so efficient in the kitchen,

the last time i tried helping out in the kitchen, my maid almost drove me out with a broom…

seeing how helpless i was at cooking, they gave me the most important job…rolling the meatballs.

if you think that it’s a simple job, you go try it and let me know again.

rolling 4kg worth of meatballs is no simple task!

i was kinda surprised we managed to finish rolling and cooking the meatballs by 6.30pm,

it smelled so nice we couldn’t help popping a few into our mouths now and then.

seeing how many meatballs there were and how small my home fridge is, trond allowed me to store the meatballs in his freezer and i’ll pop by to collect it tomorrow afternoon.

i was also surprised trond’s mom could recognise me, the last time she saw me was way back in 1992, 17 years ago.

and i swear she looks younger now than then.

lol!

no i’m not into milfs!

oh and i collected the iphone from trond…

just hoping i’ve time to settle everything by tomorrow 9pm.

came today around 2.30pm, lucky my granny was in to sign for the package.

went to a nearby shop during lunch with colin (low) to pick up a few items i’ll need for the birthday present…

aluminum foil, to line the insides of the stryofoam box.

clingwrap, to wrap the phone and other stuffs so they won’t get oily.

huge ziplock bags, for “that lost friend” to put the meatballs in after getting the present.

plastic gloves, for hygiene purposes…

getting the phone tomorrow from trond…

and of course, the meatballs!

less than 48 hours to eta…

the birthday present, part 2

friendship is a promise spoken only by the heart.
it isn’t given by any pledge.
it isn’t written on any paper.

but friendship is a promise,
that is renewed every time
we meet and smile and enjoy
the good times that come from simply
being together.

it’s a promise to share
both glad and sad times…

a promise to think of each other fondly,
whether near of far apart.

friendship is a promise
spoken only by the heart.

a promise that i feel
you and i will always keep.

is what’s printed on the card…

the reluctant buy

Author: JT   |  Nov 8th, 2007

was lazying around, clicking away on my computer when trond messaged me online to “date” me out for lunch.

lol! so romantic ah?

urgh! don’t even think about it!

actually, he found a few places around my place that might have the styrofoam boxes that i’m searching high and low for.

had our lunch at a nearby coffeeshop and began our search…

all the shops that do sell styrofoam boxes only had the normal ones, the only one a little different was found in a fish shop…

it wasn’t exactly what i wanted, but the uncle had to climb a long ladder just to show me the box and i didn’t have the heart to ask him to climb up again to put it back so i just bought it.

oh well, it was less than $5, i’ll take it as charity and a backup just in case i really could not find the box that i want.
